Anomalia Paris is an independent French niche perfume house creating perfectly wrong fragrances. Its philosophy celebrates individuality, creative freedom and a different interpretation of luxury.

It represents our refusal to follow predictable perfume conventions. We embrace unexpected contrasts, unconventional compositions and fragrances that are not designed to please everyone.

3 Where are Anomalia perfumes made?

Our fragrances are created and manufactured in France in collaboration with Master Perfumers and specialised partners in fine fragrance development and production.

4 Are Anomalia perfumes for women or men?

Our fragrances are genderless. We see perfume as a work of art, and art has always existed beyond the boundaries of gender. A fragrance belongs to whoever connects with it, regardless of whether it is traditionally considered masculine or feminine.

5 What is the difference between niche and designer perfume?

Designer fragrances tend to follow more established commercial codes, offering a certain familiarity and predictability. Niche perfumery, at its best, is driven by creative freedom and an ongoing dialogue — between the creator and their own imagination, and between the creator and the person who wears the fragrance. It is less about following expectations and more about expressing an independent artistic vision.

7 What is the difference between Matcha Woodoo and Fallen Milk?

Both fragrances explore matcha from different perspectives. Matcha Woodoo is green, dry, woody and darker in character, with mate, incense and Nepalese sandalwood. Fallen Milk is a softer, more intimate interpretation, blending a matcha accord with almond milk, Cashmeran, tonka bean and white musk. They can be worn separately or layered as the Matcha Ritual.

8 Which Anomalia perfume represents a fresh start?

Karmacoma is our olfactory expression of transformation. Inspired by a blank sheet of white paper — the beginning of a life yet to be written — it brings together natural Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar, leather, saffron and powdery notes. 10 Which Anomalia perfume makes a good gift for a man?

11 Can Anomalia perfumes be worn in every season?

Yes. Seasons do not determine which fragrance you should wear. Temperature can affect perception and diffusion, but personal preference remains the most important consideration.

WEARING & CARING FOR PERFUME

12 Where should I apply perfume?

Spray onto clean skin, particularly around the neck or wrists. Start with a small amount and adjust according to the intensity you prefer.

13 Should I rub my wrists together after applying perfume?

There is no need to rub your wrists. Allow the fragrance to develop naturally on your skin.

14 How can I make my perfume last longer?

Moisturise. And moisturise again.

Well-hydrated skin generally retains fragrance better, helping it remain noticeable for longer and allowing its character to develop more fully. Dry skin can make a fragrance seem to disappear much faster.

Apply an unscented moisturiser before your perfume. It is one of the simplest ways to improve your fragrance-wearing experience, although longevity and projection still depend on the composition and individual skin chemistry.

15 What is the difference between longevity, projection and sillage?

Longevity describes how long a fragrance remains perceptible. Projection refers to how far it radiates from the skin. Sillage is the scented trail it leaves in the air.

16 Why does perfume smell different on different people?

Skin temperature, personal care products and environmental factors can influence how a fragrance is perceived. Testing a perfume on your own skin is therefore important.

17 Why can I no longer smell my perfume after a few hours?

Olfactory adaptation may make your nose less sensitive to a familiar scent. This does not necessarily mean the fragrance has completely disappeared.

18 How many perfumes should I test at once?

There is no universal limit, but comparing a small number of fragrances at a time can make the experience more informative. Allow each composition to develop and take breaks when needed.

19 How should I store my perfume?

Keep the bottle closed and away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity and extreme temperature fluctuations.

20 Why do some Anomalia perfumes change colour?

Because we work with a high proportion of natural aromatic materials, some of our fragrances can evolve in colour over time — occasionally quite noticeably.

Natural materials are chemically complex. Like wine, they can respond to light, temperature and the passage of time. Prolonged exposure to intense retail lighting, including fluorescent lighting, can accelerate colour changes. Even light-protective ingredients cannot entirely eliminate the effects of unsuitable storage or prolonged exposure.

A change in colour alone does not necessarily mean that the fragrance has changed in character or quality. If the scent itself changes significantly, however, please contact us.

For the best preservation, keep your perfume away from strong light and heat.

21 How long can perfume be stored?

Shelf life depends on the formula and storage conditions. Significant changes in odour or appearance may indicate deterioration. Refer to the information on the packaging.

22 Can I spray perfume on my clothes?

Some fabrics retain fragrance well, but perfume may stain or affect delicate materials. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.

23 Can I wear more than one fragrance at once?

Yes. This practice is known as fragrance layering. Combining different compositions can create a more personal scent signature.

24 How should I layer Matcha Woodoo and Fallen Milk?

Experience each fragrance separately first, then experiment with layering. Fallen Milk adds milky, musky softness to the green, woody structure of Matcha Woodoo.

25 Does a higher perfume concentration always mean better longevity?

No. Concentration is only one factor. The aromatic materials, formula structure and individual wearing conditions also influence longevity.

26 What are top, heart and base notes?

These terms describe different aspects of a perfume's perceived development. Top notes are often most noticeable at first, heart notes contribute to its main character, and base notes can remain perceptible for longer. They may overlap.

27 What is a perfume accord?

An accord combines multiple aromatic materials to create a coherent scent impression. Leather, almond milk and warm sand accords do not necessarily correspond to single natural ingredients.

28 What is the difference between fragrance notes and INCI ingredients?

Fragrance notes describe what a perfume smells like. The INCI list identifies ingredients declared under cosmetic labelling rules. They serve different purposes.

29 Do Anomalia perfumes contain allergens?

Like many fragrances, they may contain substances capable of causing allergic reactions. Consult the product's INCI information and packaging before use, particularly if you have known sensitivities.

30 What should I do if I experience irritation?

Discontinue use. If symptoms are significant or persist, seek advice from a healthcare professional.

31 Are Anomalia perfumes vegan and cruelty-free?

Anomalia Paris develops vegan fragrances and states that its perfumes are not tested on animals.

Animal testing for cosmetic purposes has been prohibited under European Union cosmetics legislation for many years. All cosmetic products placed on the EU market must comply with the applicable legal framework.

IFRA Standards govern the safe use of fragrance ingredients; they are not, however, a separate cruelty-free certification. Certain chemical ingredients may also be subject to regulatory requirements outside cosmetic legislation.

The Discovery Set is available for €50 and includes a €50 purchase benefit towards an eligible 70 ml fragrance purchased within 30 days, according to the offer conditions.

34 What does “Try Before You Buy” mean?

An eligible 70 ml fragrance order includes a matching sample, allowing you to experience the scent before opening the full-size bottle. The applicable return policy continues to apply.

35 Can I give perfume as a gift without knowing someone's fragrance preferences?

Yes. A gift card accompanied by a curated selection of samples allows the recipient to explore different perfumes before selecting their preferred fragrance.

36 How does the Anomalia gift card work?

The gift card can be used for eligible purchases at the official online boutique, anomaliaparis.com, within its available balance and subject to its terms. It cannot be redeemed for cash.

37 How long is an Anomalia gift card valid?

Anomalia gift cards are valid for six months under the terms applicable when the card is issued.

38 Can I include a personal message with my order?

A personal message option may be available during checkout. When offered, the Maison transcribes your message onto a handwritten card.

Contact us as soon as possible. The possibility of changing an order depends on its processing and shipping status, without affecting your statutory rights.

Where tracking is available, shipping information will be provided once your parcel has been handed to the carrier.

48 What if my perfume atomiser does not work?

Try pressing the pump several times to prime it. If the problem continues, contact customer service. Do not attempt to dismantle the bottle.

49 How can I verify that my Anomalia perfume is authentic?
